GX470
Based on Toyota' 4Runner, Lexus' mid-size GX470 sport-utility vehicle comes wrapped in more elegant-looking exterior styling with a plusher interior and additional standard features. Its 235-horsepower, 4.7-liter V-8 engine combines with a five-speed automatic transmission and a sophisticated four-wheel-drive system. It boasts a towing capacity of 5000 pounds. Front-side and side-curtain airbags are included, as are four-wheel disc anti-lock brakes, Vehicle Skid Control, and an auto-leveling rear suspension. A wide range of convenience features includes automatic front and rear air conditioning, a CD changer, garage door opener, navigation system, auto-dimming rearview mirror, power moonroof, heated leather seats, and rain-sensing windshield wipers. Roll-sensing side-curtain airbags, a DVD entertainment system, and a rear backup camera are optional. Changes for 2006 are relatively minor.
