Big new for the '07 Range Rover is the addition of a 272-horsepower (and 472-lb-ft of torque) 3.6-liter turbodiesel V-8 to the options list. It comes with a new six-speed automatic transmission. Last year's gas 4.4-liter V-8 continues, now rated at 306 horsepower, along with the optionally available supercharged 396-horsepower version that's also used in the Range Rover Sport. Other changes for '07 include tweaks to the interior (including a new twin glovebox with more capacity than before), an enhanced airbag package, a revised console design, electronically activated parking brake and improved air conditioning and ventilation systems. Rounding out the changes are more extensive wood and metallic finishes, fanny coolers in addition to heaters for the front seats and active head restraints. As before, supercharged models are differentiated by a diamond-mesh front grille, 20-inch alloy wheels, and special black-on-silver badging. Braking and steering performance are also enhanced overall, and the vehicle's air suspension is revised. Adaptive headlights, a tire-pressure monitor, touch-screen controls for audio, phone and driving information, a rear-view video monitor, an available rear seat entertainment system and Sirius satellite radio round out the options list.
