The compact
Liberty is expected to be
updated in either mid-2007 or early 2008 and will share some styling cues with
the new Dodge Nitro that shares its platform. At the time of this writing
further details were not yet available. The current
Liberty enters 2007
without its diesel engine option while the 150-horsepower 2.4-liter
four-cylinder engine remains the standard powerplant. The optional 3.7-liter V-6
delivers a quicker and smoother 210 horses with 235 lb-ft of torque. Either
six-speed manual or five-speed automatic transmission are available.
