The 2011 Infiniti M Sedan comes in two different flavors—the V-6-powered M37 and the V-8-powered M56. And of the two, we tend to actually like the V-8 a bit more in this generation. Why? Infiniti has bumped fuel economy up for the V-8 model (it now gets up to an EPA-rated 25 mpg on the highway), and it now feels just as balanced and at ease as the V-6 in the corners.
But that's not to say we don't recommend the M37. With 330 horsepower, it can move this big sport sedan with haste—and the excellent seven-speed automatic is a quick-shifting partner. Steering feel is still among the best among mid-size sport sedans, and the suspension rides over the worst surfaces with aplomb.
The design of the 2011 Infiniti M37 is also one of the best in the business, with a graceful, voluptuous look on the outside, with smooth surfaces and swelling fenders, to an interior that goes its own way versus top European interiors, with a lot of curves, wood veneers, and fine leather.
