FX35/45

Infiniti's comfortable and stylish crossover vehicle continues for 2006 with only minor changes. The FX35 comes powered by a sufficiently peppy 280-horsepower, 3.5-liter V-6 engine, while the FX45 ups the ante with a 315-horsepower 4.5-liter V-8 engine and added features. Both powerplants come mated to a five-speed automatic with manual shifting capability, with both rear- and all-wheel-drive versions available. Four-wheel-disc anti-lock brakes, traction control, and 18-inch wheels and tires are all included on the FX35; the FX45 adds large 20-inch rims and rubber. For 2006, the FX gets an exterior facelift with new grille, bumper, wheel designs, and three new exterior colors, Liquid Platinum, Serengeti Sand, and Orange. Inside, there's a new center console and updated gauges, with a newly available Wheat color scheme. Revised suspension tuning includes new shock absorbers, and the vehicle rides on redesigned wheels. In addition, all FX models add a 300-watt Bose audio system, RearView Monitor, driver's seat memory, a power tilt/telescope steering wheel, and an Advanced Air Bag System as standard equipment. The FX35 further adds leather seating surfaces with heated front seats, heated outside mirrors, a ten-way power driver's seat with power lumbar support, and eight-way power passenger's seat. What's more, the FX45 adds last year's Premium Package contents (sunroof, automatic headlamps, roof rails, cargo net and cover, and garage door opener), keyless Intelligent Key system, and a Bluetooth hands-free phone as standard features.
