Sonata

An all-new mid-size Sonata debuts for 2005 that is now built in America, specifically at Hyundai's just-completed manufacturing facility in Montgomery, Alabama(along with the Santa Fe SUV). While no details on the new Sonata were available as of this writing, Hyundai recently stated it would begin taking each of its vehicles more upscale to better differentiate them from what will become, in turn, their more basic and sporty versions at Kia. While the Sonata will continue as a front-drive mid-size sedan, likely with a base four-cylinder engine and an optional V-6, the car is expected to be a bit more sleekly styled than before and come finished with a bit more everyday elegance than its corporate cousin at Kia, the Optima.
