GMC's version of the full-size Chevrolet Tahoe sport-utility vehicle and, in XL form, the Suburban, is uniquely offered in an upscale Denali trim level that comes loaded with amenities. For 2005, StabiliTrak stability control becomes available across the line, along with an enhanced passenger safety belt reminder system and a new liftgate with lift-up glass. The optional 6.0-liter V-8 engine receives a power boost to 335 horsepower and 375 lb/ft of torque. A DVD-based touch-screen navigation radio is newly offered, along with 17-inch wheels as stand-alone options. 20-inch wheels are now optional on Denali and XL Denali versions. A 275 horsepower 4.8-liter comes standard with a four-speed automatic transmission that includes a "tow/haul" function. Four-wheel-drive models get GM's Autotrac system that can be permanently left in full-time 4WD mode. A "Hydroboost" braking system and a tire-pressure monitor are available on half-ton models, while a traction assist system with a locking rear differential is optional on 2WD versions. Meanwhile, the XL offers GM's four-wheel steering system. A wide range of comfort and convenience features are available in all versions.
