F-250/350 Super Duty
The bigger, bolder, and more powerful members of the F-Series family of full-size pickups feature more rugged-looking exteriors than the F-150, with stronger available powertrains and added hauling and towing abilities. A standard 300-horsepower 5.4-liter V-8 engine drives either the rear or all four wheels via either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission. Meanwhile the top 6.8-liter V-10 engine offers strong power and torque, and the available 6.0-liter PowerStroke diesel powerplant grinds out a forceful 570 lb-ft of torque and 325 horsepower; for 2006 it's been cleared for 50-state emissions regulations. A unique TowCommand System that includes an integrated electric trailer brake controller is also newly offered. As always, a wide range of trim levels, practical features, and convenience-oriented amenities are offered. For 2006, a new Amarillo Package, available on Lariat Crew Cab models includes a number of visual enhancements, including Blazing Yellow paint, 18-inch polished-aluminum forged wheels, brushed aluminum door trim, black leather seating surfaces, and chrome accents inside and out. A Chrome Package that's newly available on XLT and Lariat SuperCab and Crew Cab versions includes a chrome grille, exhaust tip, tow hooks, mirror caps, pickup bed tie-downs, and five-inch tubular step bars. 20-inch polished-aluminum forged wheels are now available on Crew Cab 4x4 Lariat, King Ranch, and Amarillo models. Finally, the equipment previously included in the Lariat Luxury Package is now standard on Lariat versions, while new King Ranch paint colors for 2006 include Black Clearcoat/Arizona Beige, and True Blue Metallic Clearcoat/Arizona Beige.
