Focus
Ford's smallest passenger car continues with only slight changes for 2006. Its standard 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine generates 136 horsepower, and can be coupled to either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission. The line includes sedan, hatchback, and wagon body styles in four separate trim levels. A performance-minded ZX4 ST sedan is fitted with both a stiffer suspension and a 151-horsepower 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine. A new Street Appearance Package for ZX3, ZX4, and ZX5 models gives the Focus a more aggressive, customized look; additional paint choices for 2006 include Dark Toreador Red Clearcoat Metallic, Pueblo Gold Clearcoat Metallic, and Screaming Yellow Clearcoat. Also for '06, alloy wheels are newly available as a standalone option on S and SE models, and CD changer audio systems now come with steering-wheel controls.
