Expedition
Ford's full-size sport-utility vehicle is powered by 310-horsepower 5.4-liter V-8 engine that generates a stout 356 lb-ft of torque, and is mated to a four-speed automatic gearbox. AdvanceTrak stability control with Roll Stability Control is available for safety's sake, as is a Safety Canopy side-curtain airbag system that deploys when it senses an impending rollover - and stays inflated for a few seconds in case the vehicle flips multiple times. The Expedition comes in rear- and four-wheel-drive versions in four trim levels, with the top-of-the-line Limited including virtually every imaginable convenience. For 2006, the Reverse Sensing System and Safety Canopy airbags are newly offered as standalone options, and new colors to be added later in the model year include Pewter Clearcoat Metallic and Dark Copper Clearcoat Metallic; a Medium Flint Grey interior will be added to the Limited version later in 2006.
