Continuing with only minor changes for 2005, the mid-size Stratus sedan shares platforms and powertrains with the four-door Chrysler Sebring, while the sleeker and sportier coupe variation rides on a separate chassis and is related to the Mitsubishi Eclipse and Sebring Coupe. Two-door models are available with either a standard 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine or an available 200-horsepower, 3.0-liter V-6, mated to either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic gearbox. Sedans offer the choice of either a 2.4-liter four-cylinder or a 200-horsepower 2.7-liter V-6, and can be fitted with only with the four-speed-automatic.
