Cavalier
While the Cobalt will eventually replace this long-running compact sedan and coupe in Chevrolet's line, the Cavalier remains for another year as the new model is being rolled out. While buyers will undoubtedly be able to find good deals on the carryover Cavalier, it still falls short of the competition in terms of performance and comfort. Nothing has changed for 2005, though the line has been simplified. Its only available engine is a 140-horsepower 2.2-liter in-line four that provides decent acceleration, especially when mated to the base five-speed manual transmission; a four-speed automatic remains optional. Available features include the OnStar communication system and XM Satellite Radio.
