The rear-drive STS luxury-sport sedan gets a new six-speed automatic transmission when ordered with the optional 4.6 liter, 320 horsepower Northstar V-8 engine. The standard engine is a 3.6 liter, 254 horsepower V-6 teamed with a five-speed automatic. Both rear and all-wheel-drive versions are available. The high-performance STS-V version is powered by a supercharged 4.4-liter Northstar V-8 engine that generates 469 horsepower and can reach 60 mph in less than five seconds. A six-speed automatic is also standard on this model. The STS-V also rides on larger wheels and tires, with stiffer stabilizer bars, a quicker steering ratio, and a specifically tuned chassis; Brembo brakes are included with larger rotors, pads, and calipers. All versions of the STS include four-channel StabiliTrak stability control and Magnetic Ride Control. Available features include an Easy Key keyless entry system, Adaptive Remote Start system, Adaptive Cruise Control, Intellibeam headlights, four-color head-up display (HUD), heated and ventilated seats, and a heated steering wheel.
