Escalade
Cadillac's luxury version of the Chevrolet Tahoe full-size SUV comes in standard length, the longer ESV, and the EXT, which is a SUV/pickup truck combination that shares its configuration with the Chevrolet Avalanche. Each offers comparable performance to its other General Motors counterparts, but with added ride softness, amenities, and attitude. All versions come powered by a 345-horsepower 6.0-liter V-8 engine that generates 380 lb-ft of torque. A long list of standard performance and convenience features are included, with more available via the options list. While the Escalade and ESV continue unchanged for 2006, the EXT adds a newly optional power sliding tonneau cover for the pickup bed that opens and closes at a touch of a button; it replaces the vehicle's standard rigid manual tonneau covers. Also new for the EXT (but to be introduced later in the model year) is a sliding load floor to make cargo management easier. Redesigned versions of the Escalade and ESV are expected in early 2006 for the 2007 model year.
