Rendezvous
Buick's crossover sport utility vehicle shares platforms and many major components with the Pontiac Aztek and continues into 2005 with select changes. These include a new front-wheel-drive version of the top-line Ultra version, which was previously only available with all-wheel-drive. The vehicle's optional 245-horsepower 3.6-liter V-6 engine is now offered in the front-drive Rendezvous CXL (it was previously available only on the AWD version and in the Ultra). Other changes for 2005 include an optional touch-screen navigation system, three new 17-inch wheel designs and a wood-trimmed steering wheel and wood-toned interior added to the CXL version. The base engine remains a 185-hp, 3.4-liter V-6. A four-speed automatic is standard across the line, and buyers can choose between front- or all-wheel-drive. Standard equipment includes a CD stereo, dual-zone air conditioning, keyless entry, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with touch controls. Amenities like rear park assist, XM satellite radio, and a tire-pressure monitoring system are optional.
