Park Avenue
This more
upscale version of the
LeSabre enters its final year in its present form with a
limited run of 8400 units, awaiting a total makeover for 2006. Adorned with
trademark side-fender "Ventiports" and a standing hood ornament that links the
line back to
Buick's Golden Age, the
Park
Avenue is roomy, plush and posh, with a softer ride
than you'll find in most of today's pricier makes. The base sedan comes with a
205-horsepower naturally aspirated version of this engine, shared with the
LeSabre, that nets 205 horses, while a 240-hp supercharged 3.8-liter V-6 is
available in the Ultra version for added muscle; both engines comes with a
four-speed automatic transmission. A Grand Touring suspension is included on the
Ultra that stiffens up the ride just a bit for improved handling. An all-new
grille design highlights the
2005 Park
Avenue
, and the final 3000 cars off the line
will be badged as Special Editions and will include chrome wheels (with an
exclusive wheel design optional on the Ultra). Several hundred of the Special
Editions will be offered in an optional black and platinum two-tone color
combination.
