Think twice before you buy a Mountaineer 2007 or 2008.

Great SUV

...Dirt roads and bumps are eaten up by the suspension and the v8 power is great and it gets 20 mpg on the highway when you don't drive with a heavy foot...

Ford sells about times as many Explorers as Mercury does Mountaineers.

Editors from TheCarConnection.com offer a myriad of answers why, but mostly it's because Mercury drivers are using Mountaineers as car and/or minivan substitutes, not as truck alternatives.
