2010-2014 Taurus and 2013-2014 Police Interceptor Sedans Recalled

Ford is recalling certain 2010-2014 Taurus vehicles along with 2013-2014 Police Interceptor Sedans that are being operated in salt-belt-states due to corrosion in the license plate lamp. When corrosion sets up, it can short-circuit the lamp assembly, causing a fire.

The fix

Ford dealers are replacing the license plate lamp assemblies on all affected vehicles at no charge to owners.

Vehicle eligibility

Only vehicles sold in, or currently registered in, salt-belt-states are included in this recall from Ford. Owners will receive letters from Ford, or can call local dealers with the vehicle's VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) to determine if a particular vehicle is involved in this recall.
