Kia has issued a service bulletin to fix Sorento crossovers with a stalling problem.
Kia has found that some 2011-2013 Sorento crossovers manufactured during certain dates can, under certain operating conditions, stall when coming to a stop. Typically the engine can be restarted immediately, but it presents an obvious safety concern.
Kia says this condition is due to needed software updates for the PCM (Powertrain Control Module), and is conducting a voluntary service action to alleviate this problem.
Dealers will scan the PCMs on affected vehicles and conduct whatever software updates are necessary to alleviate the problem.
