The world, and the United States, has changed a lot since the late 1990s, not least in the automotive sphere. There are electric cars that aren't punchlines to poorly told jokes; electric cars which are in fact Very Good Things.
Toyota has, for at least a couple of decades and several generations of modest, evolutionary change, played it safe with the best-selling Corolla. But with the all-new 2014 Corolla, the automaker has gotten smart; realizing that it was losing too many sales to stylish, sportier models like the Ford Focus or Mazda 3, and to sophisticated, value-packed models like the Hyundai Elantra, Kia Forte, and Chevrolet Cruze, among many others.

The convertible version of the 2015 Ford Mustang was shown alongside the fastback coupe during the debut of the redesigned car late last year. However, Ford never released any of its own photos nor specific details on it.

The first information and photos for Jeep’s new subcompact crossover SUV have leaked ahead of the vehicle’s world debut tomorrow at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. A series of exterior shots have been posted online.

Last month, Tesla Motors reported deliveries of a record 6,892 Model S vehicles during the fourth quarter of 2013. Giddy investors promptly sent Tesla shares zooming higher. But many of those cars--Tesla isn't saying how many--were delivered to Europe.
Analysts worried that winter weather would put a crimp in U.S. new-car sales last month, but one electric car racked up record February sales: the Nissan Leaf. Leaf sales of 1,425 cars in February were a record for the month, more than double the 2013 total of 653 February sales (the numbers for 2012 and 2011 were 478 and 67, respectively).
The Smart Fortwo is a car that heavily divides opinion. In the U.S, it's been less than successful. Sales have been much better in Europe, but even so other manufacturers have hardly rushed out to release competitors for the two-seat city car.
