The redesigned 2014 Kia Soul hatchback has earned a five-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Association (NHTSA). The five-star rating is the highest highest-possible vehicle safety rating from the government. It is determined after severe testing procedures as part of the NHTSA’s New Car Assessment Program (NCAP). Crash tests combine scores from frontal, side-impact and rollover crash tests.

Vin Diesel ended speculation that the as yet unfinished movie Fast and Furious 7 would be disbanded since the actor playing one of its main characters, Paul Walker, was killed while a passenger in a Porsche Carrera GT that crashed earlier this month. Diesel posted a message on his Facebook page that included a new release date for the movie.

Contrary to published reports, no plug-in Porsches were sold in the U.S. last month. Whether the first one is handed over late this month or early next month--we'll know by Friday, January 3--the company is taking an unusual step with its 2014 Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrid.
Recently, Tesla has had to deal with the latest in a line of high-profile fire events involving one of its cars. While the original events were triggered as the result of accidents though, the latest was a garage fire, the cause of which is still unconfirmed.
