2014 Honda Accord Hybrid
If you're looking for a new hybrid, you might want to save your pennies 'til Halloween. That's when Honda dealers will begin carrying the 2014 Accord Hybrid, priced from $29,155.
The sedan arrives with a goodie bag full of standard features. Perhaps most notable is Honda's LaneWatch system, which alerts drivers of cars hovering in their blind spot. LaneWatch is a nifty piece of equipment and a rarity among hybrids in this category.
Also standard are LED daytime running lights, a rearview camera (soon to be required by U.S. regulation), Bluetooth HandsFreeLink, dual-zone climate control, alloy wheels, and the ne plus ultra of any contemporary car, USB and iPod integration.
If you're feeling blingy, you can step up to the Accord Hybrid EX-L, which comes with heated, leather-trimmed front seats, a one-touch moonroof, and power driver's seat memory. But where the EX-L really shines is on the safety front: standard equipment includes both Forward Collision Warning and Lane Departure Warning systems, which are, once again, rarely found in this class. The EX-L starts at $31,905.
At the top of the line, there's the Accord Hybrid Touring, which starts at $34,905. It comes with all the bells and whistles found on the base model and the EX-L, as well as a navigation system (with voice recognition and integrated FM traffic data) and a hard disk for audio memory. It also includes one of our all-time favorite safety features, Adaptive Cruise Control. And in keeping with its snazzy price, the Touring model also offers blue-tinted chrome bezels on the headlights.
No matter which Accord Hybrid you choose, you'll earn an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 50 mpg city and 45 mpg highway, or 47 mpg combined. You'll also get the satisfaction of knowing that your car is one of two Honda hybrids made in the U.S.A., and the first to be manufactured at Honda's Marysville Auto Plant in Ohio.
All 2014 Honda Accord Hybrids also come with a three-year/36,000-mile Limited Vehicle Warranty, a five-year/60,000-mile Powertrain Limited Warranty, and a five-year/unlimited-mile Corrosion Limited Warranty. Hybrid fans will be interested to know that the battery pack is covered by an eight-year/100,000-mile or ten-year/150,000 mile limited warranty, depending on where you purchase the vehicle.
