Discussing Tesla Motors, The Model S, And The New York Times: Google+ Hangout Video

Follow Joel

We recently circled the wagons and rounded up the team for a riveting discussion regarding Tesla Motors, the recent review of its Model S in The New York Times, and the electric car company's future.

The main main focus in the beginning of the chat was a recap of The New York Times' review situation regarding the Model S, and how Tesla MotorsĀ [NSDQ:TSLA] was displeased with the end result. Tesla published the test car's data logs to point out discrepancies with the review, and what the journalist was reporting.

After a little while, the discussion moved onto how the outcome the newspaper and its Tesla Model S review situation could affect future reviews and the automotive journalism industry.

A few hours after the discussion took place, Tesla held its quarterly earnings call. So the team took a few minutes to discuss some predictions as to what Tesla might announce during the call, and how that could affect the company.

The discussion ended with some impressions of the Model S and it's main competitor, the Fisker Karma, along with some final thoughts on the company's future.

If you didn't get to watch the discussion live, you're in luck. The video has been saved for your viewing pleasure on YouTube.

  1. Jon Broder (NYT) wasn't aware of the logging and was caught with his pants down. Reported he had to turn the heat down to save energy but actually turned the heat up. Mr Broder expected to travel 61 miles but stopped charging the Model S when the charge showed only 32 miles of range. Sounds like something suspect...Hmmmm..
