Stumped for Valentine’s Day gift ideas? An auto dealer in India has taken a page from the Lexus Christmastime playbook and is offering the 2012 Tata Nano Valentines Edition.
Priced at the equivalent of about $4,200 USD, the $400 option from Auto Industries in Goa is available on 20 spiffed-up examples in Rouge Red and green Neon Rush for the occasion.
As you may recall, the Nano is Tata’s unpretentious, four-door people mover. After the instant sales success of its 2009 launch, Tata (which also owns Jaguar Land Rover) has floated the idea of US and European versions, though it’s busy enough keeping up with demand in India alone.
Valentine’s-themed graphic work is the first hint this is no ordinary Nano, as shown on Goa On Wheels. Fog lamps, mud flaps and “protective sunfilm” round out the exterior touches.
Added remote central locking gives access to the rest of the package. Inside, that amounts to air freshener, a cell phone with mounted dashboard holder, a sound system with USB port and a flash drive for music storage.
No extra motivation finds its way under the Nano’s hood; the 624 cc engine still produces 37 horsepower and 38 pound-feet of torque. After all, love is patient.
