Need a new ride? You could schlep to a showroom, schmooze with a salesperson, cozy up to a credit officer, and pay for it yourself, but wouldn't it be nicer to snag one from the comfort of your own living room? For free? While watching the Super Bowl? It's all possible using the Chevy Game Time app.

Here's how it works:


1. Download the Chevy Game Time app at chevy.com/gametime. It's available for both Android and iPhone.

2. Watch the Super Bowl on February 5.

3. When you open the app, it will assign you a unique license plate number. If you spot that number on a Chevrolet during the broadcast, you win a new car.

4. The folks at Chevrolet will also pitch trivia questions to you on the app throughout the broadcast. Tap in the "correct or most common answer", and you'll be entered into a sweepstakes to win a new Chevy ride.

The cars up for grabs are: one A Chevrolet Corvette GS Convertible 4LT, six Sonic 2LZs, six Cruze LTZs, three Silverado 1500s, one Camaro 2SS, one Camaro 2SS Convertible, and two Chevy Volts. On the off-chance you don't nab one of those vehicles, don't worry: you can still win one of thousands of goodies from Bridgestone, Motorola, the NFL, Papa John's, or Sirius XM.

    It's interesting that Chevrolet decides to give away 20 new care during the Superbowl and uses a red Corvette convertible in the ad to get our attention, but is not giving away any Corvettes.

    Mea culpa: there is, in fact, a Corvette up for grabs -- specifically, a Chevrolet Corvette GS Convertible 4LT. I accidentally overlooked it because of the way in which it was listed in the official rules. See Cristi's update below, and check the rules for full details.

    Cristi from the Chevy PR team here. We are also giving away a Corvette Grand Sport Convertible. Here's the exact language from the official rules:

    The prize for Entry Period 2 of the During the Game Sweepstakes will be: A Chevrolet Corvette GS Convertible 4LT and an XM Satellite Radio with 1 year of service.

    I had a number but I never saw any numbers in the commercials.
    I lost my original site that I entered on. any help

    What a waste of time that app was. I watched the Chevy commercials for my plate, I only saw one plate, it was on the Silverado. I guess I was thinking this would be fun like where is Waldo, instead was nothing more than a gimmick. I feel cheated. Going forward I'll fast forward past Chevy commercials and dealerships.
