Back in February we reported General Motors may axe the Acadia from the GMC lineup. It seems the Acadia will get at least one refresh before that may or may not happen. Manager of GMC Communications Joel LaMuraglia confirmed on Twitter the refreshed seven-seater will make make its debut at the Chicago Auto Show next month.

While little is known about the pending refresh, we are expecting GMC's new IntelliLink voice-activated system to be standard along with a new touch-screen navigation. We also expect new front and rear fascias to be part of the redesign along with a slightly updated interior.

While the long-term future of the GMC large crossover may be uncertain, it'll be likely be with us for at least another four to five years.

Tell us in the comments what you would like to see as part of the Acadia refresh.

  1. The Acadia Denali pictured in the article is a joke. It is nothing but a no-go showboat consisting of gingerbread trim only and a "cheapening" of the Denali nameplate. Denali's are known and loved for their larger engine option and the Acadia version is equippped with the same, relatively underpowered (for a 5000 lb. vehicle) 3.9 liter DOHC V-6 as the rest of the Lambda models. If searching for a used Lambda vehicle, be sure and avoid the '08 models wich have a fatal timing chain stretching issue that GM refuses to issue a recall for and foolishly thinks they can "fix" by adjusting the oil change interval notification in the on-board OLM. Caveat emptor !
