The 2013 Lincoln MKT further benefits from the improved Ford SYNC system as well as an all-new MyLincoln Touch system (the Lincoln version of MyFord Touch).
Safety features and driving aids
In a segment first, the 2013 Lincoln MKT, offers inflatable rear seat belts are available for second-row outboard passengers as an available option. Why would consumers choose this feature? The advanced restraints spread impact forces over more than five times the impact area of conventional seat belts, reducing pressure on the chest while helping to motion of the head and neck.
Safety features include six standard airbags, anti-lock brakes, traction control and AdvanceTrac with RSC (Roll Stability Control), and the availability of the new Lane Keeping System that Ford will debut early next year on the mid-size Ford Explorer crossover SUV.
The Lane Keeping System has three features designed to keep drivers in control behind the wheel, including Driver Alert System, Lane Keeping Alert, and Lane Keeping Aid.
Active Park Assist, another class-exclusive technology, makes parallel parking the MKT a breeze by measuring open spaces and automatically guiding the MKT into an appropriately-sized parking spot. The driver maintains full control of the throttle, brakes and shifting all the while that active park assist is engaged.
Other safety features already available on the Lincoln MKT include collision warning paired with adaptive cruise control, and Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with cross-traffic alert.
Pricing for the 2013 Lincoln MKT with 3.7-liter V-6 engine begins at $44,300, unchanged from 2011. The starting price for the 3.5-liter Eco-Boost AWD MKT is $46,295, which is the same entry price as last year’s now-discontinued 3.7-liter V-6 model with AWD.
The 2013 Lincoln MKT will arrive in dealer showrooms in the spring of 2012.
