Chevrolet has already announced it is bringing the TrailBlazer nameplate back to production for 2013 as a global SUV model, and now we can see what the thinly veiled concept version looks like. These images were taken by an outlet in India that was attending a Chevrolet press event.

The new TrailBlazer will be a body-on-frame SUV based off of the new Colorado truck. Armed to do battle with the likes of the Grand Cherokee, Toyota 4Runner, and other capable off-road SUVs, the new TrailBlazer will be available in both rear-wheel and all-wheel-drive models.

We have been told it is not yet decided whether or not the new TrailBlazer will be sold in the United States, but based on the fact that the new Colorado is coming, we would think it is a pretty good bet.

Stay tuned for more updates.

  3. Interested to see the 2013 Trailblazer will be displayed at the Dubai auto show.
Some 30 years past I was very much involved with off road evaluation of the 1984 Blazer.Regrettably we failed misaberly against our non US SUV competition.
Off-road (sand)dunes, cooling, traction, were the biggest negatives.
I trust the new GM co. and global engineering have studied past experiences and finally get a product designed, engineered to meet or exceed other global entries in this class.

  4. RWD? Can it tow 5000lb?
IMO, this truck would be perfect if it were a RWD 2 door with a tailgate and the back part of the roof retracted into the front, with the seats folding flat to make a hard, flat bed cargo area. Also, if it had a deep under cargo storage area with a drain like the Titan.

  6. I don't get why Chevrolet is using that same 2 part grille on every car nowadays. It looks good on a few cars like the Sonic, but it is being wayy overused and starting to get ridiculous, especially on the trailblazer.
I don't like it, not happy with the direction Chevrolet is going. It's like they have cut costs and only have one designer and that is the only front end he/she knows how to make.
