2012 Acura TSX Special Edition
Acura has announced pricing for the 2012 Acura TSX and TSX Sport Wagon, saying that there’s a $200 price increase across the lineup. Although the price does bump up a bit, the Japanese automaker points out that the starting price of $29,810 for the entry-level luxury sports sedan is still under-$30,000.
The destination charge on all TSX and Sport Wagon models remains unchanged at $885. That’s on top of the base price, so technically, you can’t walk out of the dealership and drive off in the 2012 TSX for under-$30,000. That makes it more like $30,695, but still well worth it, considering what you’re getting.
Going after younger families yearning for a sportier five-passenger luxury sedan, Acura is offering a TSX Special Edition package starting at $30,810, available with either five-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmission for the same price. The Special Edition package boasts a distinctive exterior look, thanks to its aggressive front spoiler, rear fascia and side sills, 17-inch five-spoke aluminum wheels, and unique badging. On the inside, the TSX Special Edition features seats with black suede inserts and red backing, a black headliner, aluminum pedal covers, and red stitching and red lighting throughout the cabin.
The Acura TSX V-6 begins at $35,350. There’s also a Technology package for $3,100, available on TSX and TSX V-6, which includes items such as ELS audio system and a hard-drive-based navigation system.
Pricing for the five-passenger 2012 TSX Sport Wagon begins at $31,160. Acura says the Sport Wagon has a significantly larger underfloor storage area as a result of a new compact tire repair kit. The Technology package on the Sport Wagon costs $3,650 and includes a power rear tailgate.
The TSX and TSX Sport Wagon are on sale now, while the TSX Special Edition will be available at the end of September.
