All-new 2012 Ford Focus Electric

All-new 2012 Ford Focus Electric
Buyers looking to bring the 2012 Ford Focus Electric home to the family garage are going to be out of luck until next spring, unless they live in California or New York.
The slow Ford rollout of the Focus Electric has been confirmed by David Finnegan, Ford’s Electrified Vehicles Marketing Manager, in a posting on the MyFordFocusElectric forum.
“For the first few months of the program, we will be concentrating on California and New York. Our dealers in those areas will be the first to have their retail orders scheduled and receive the Focus Electric. We will be rolling out to the remainder of our initial markets starting in Spring 2012.”
The first to receive the 2012 Focus Electric, reportedly, will be three California markets: Los Angeles, San Francisco, and San Diego, and the New York market. These four were part of the initial 19-market rollout pegged for the Focus Electric.
Come Spring, however, and 15 more markets will officially receive the Focus Electric for sale: Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Chicago, Denver, Detroit, Houston, Orlando, Phoenix, Portland, Raleigh-Durham, Richmond, Seattle, Tucson and Washington, D.C.
This is much the same pattern as the rollouts of the 2011 Nissan Leaf and 2011 Chevrolet Volt.
In the meantime, consumers can go online to the Ford website to get up to speed on all things Focus Electric.
