2012 Ford Fiesta customization pack

The small-car wars are heating up, and all the major players are readying the troops. Interestingly enough, automakers are taking different approaches when it comes to the subcompact segment.

While Ford is taking the fun to drive route, while still tackling good gas mileage, Nissan has taken the safe, reliable, inexpensive transportation route. Honda and Chevrolet are meeting in the middle, while Toyota and Hyundai veer more to Nissan's take.

But which is the right route to take? Tell us which subcompact you think is the best by tweeting your response and make sure to include the hashtag #SmallCarChamp -- and you'll join the chorus right here via CoverItLive.

  2. The Honda Fit quaity & engine are great. 30-32 mpg. city 40-44 highway actual. The storage 7 lay down space are tremendous & very useable. the quaility of fabris are great& the price is fair. Zero complaints .jim Mayer

  3. The Versa would be the obvious choice considering it's the newest car of the bunch, and oh wait it's not out yet... So of the cars you can actually buy you have to go with the Honda or the Ford. They are the coolest and most space efficient. Unfortunately Honda for some reason believes they can charge more just because the put "Honda" on the back of it. It's not BMW or a Ferrari, you can't charge just because you have history of being reliable and in what I like to call a plain awesome. Not flashy just good. Ford or (fix or repair daily) has to be edgy and make people forget about the Pinto, the Bronco (1/500 flipped), and Firestone partnership. Seems to be working so far! Overall Ford is best!

  4. Hands down it has to be FORD, good looks, good mpg, fit/finish, and reliability. I drove a Honda Fit and the hard unsupportive seats killed my back so no matter how 'good' people say it is, it is not for me. Also, the new Civic is a dud - don't waste your time.
