Ford announced yesterday that it will begin beta-testing live operator assistance for SYNC services. The concept is similar to what OnStar offers with directions and points of interest. But will SYNC beat OnStar at its own game?
Ford has already set itself up as a technology leader with SYNC. Recently Ford introduced SYNC apps, which allow drivers to control smartphone apps such as Pandora and Stitcher though the SYNC interface.
For years, OnStar has promoted its services as the best on the market because you can talk to a real human with one push of the blue button. Yesterday OnStar tweeted out, "Hearing that competitors are testing live advisors. Our team has been out there 24/7/365 for 15 years #latetotheparty."
