Which Crossover: 2011 Dodge Durango or 2011 Ford Explorer? #YouTellUs

July 11, 2011

Both the 2011 Dodge Durango and the 2011 Ford Explorer were redone for 2011 to match consumer lifestyles, but has one given up too much or did the other retain more than it needed?

Is towing capability a must-have feature on your next crossover? What about technology? These are two main differentiators when it comes to the new 2011 Ford Explorer and 2011 Dodge Durango. The Durango is now unibody based, but still offers both a V-6 and V-8 engine. This gives the Durango the ability to tow up to 7,400 lbs when properly equipped.

The Explorer is also uses unibody construction, but has dropped the V-8 engine option, and now offers a V-6 with an Ecoboost four-cylinder coming later this year. The Explorer's tow rating drops to 5,000 lbs when properly equipped. Does the difference in tow rating make a real-word difference?

Today we ask you, which crossover would you choose: 2011 Dodge Durango or 2011 Ford Explorer? Tweet us your response and make sure to include the hashtag #CUVwars -- and you'll join the chorus right here via CoverItLive.
