2011 Hyundai Sonata First Drive

Hyundai has created a stand out entry in the midsize sedan market with the 2011 Sonata, but is it overdone? While the new Sonata looks terrific today, many wonder how its design will age over time.

Hyundai calls the design "fluidic sculpture," which it says leads to a cohesive design language. We call it dramatic and sexy. But when you look at the midsize sedan market, dramatic and sexy aren't typically terms you would associate with the best selling cars in this class. While initial sales for the new Sonata are strong, one has to wonder if people will become tired of the bold design.
