One reason the new Chevrolet Camaro is so popular among children and adults alike is the car’s starring role in the first two Transformers movies. Chevrolet is well aware of this, and they’ve just announced a 2012 Chevrolet Camaro Transformers Special Edition to correspond with this week’s release of the latest Transformers film, entitled Transformers: Dark of the Moon.
Available on Rally Yellow V-6 Camaros in 2LT trim and Rally Yellow V-8 Camaros in 2SS trim, the $3,000 Transformers package includes both exterior and interior appearance items. Outside, buyers get black rally stripes that cover the hood, roof decklid and unique spoiler; 20-inch, black-painted wheels; high-performance, summer-only tires; and Autobot logos on front fenders and wheel center caps. Buyers can also upgrade to 21-inch wheels and a black-painted ground effects kit, both as dealer installed options.
Inside, 2012 Chevy Camaro Transformer Edition cars get black leather seating with contrasting yellow stitching on the seats, instrument panel, center console and armrests. Autobot shield logos are embroidered on the front seat headrests and on the center console lid, just in case the yellow stitching isn’t enough to remind you that you’re driving a Bumblebee Camaro.
Chevrolet dealers will begin taking orders in July, and deliveries are set to begin in September.
