If you’re looking to buy a Certified Pre-Owned Chevrolet, Buick or GMC, we’ve got good news for you. Thanks to changes in GM’s Certified Pre-Owned programs, CPO Chevy, Buick or GMC vehicles now come with two years or 30,000 miles of scheduled maintenance. Called Owner Care, the program covers Oil-Life-Monitor-dictated oil changes, tire rotations and multi-point vehicle inspections at no charge to the CPO owner.
In addition, the program (which changes names from "Certified Used Vehicles" to "Certified Pre-Owned Vehicles") continues to offer a 12-month, 12,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty and a five year, 100,000 mile limited powertrain warranty. The powertrain warranty includes 24-hour roadside assistance and courtesy transportation, meaning that a breakdown in a GM CPO vehicle will never leave you stranded by the roadside. All CPO vehicles also come with free trials of Sirius/XM Satellite Radio and OnStar, so buyers can determine whether the subscription-based services are worth the monthly charge.
GM has raised the bar for eligible vehicles, as well. In the past, CPO certification required cars to pass a 117-point check before being reconditioned and offered for sale. With the new program, eligible vehicles must undergo a 172 –point inspection before being deemed worthy of CPO status.
GM sees the program changes as beneficial to new car buyers as well. Per Don Johnson, vice president of U.S. Sales Operations for GM, “One of the most important things we can do is manage the business to help increase the value of Chevrolet, Buick and GMC used vehicles. This increased value gives potential new vehicle customers more for their trade-ins, thereby lowering ownership costs.”
Whether you buy new or buy Certified Pre-Owned, GM wants you to know they’re looking out for your investment.
