FamilyCarGuide is christening a new comments system today, to make it easier for you to discuss it with other readers.

We at High Gear Media looked around at ways to improve our own comments, and scanned the competition for the latest, greatest features. We think we've brought you all of the best parts in one neat package that's significantly faster, easier, and more social.

Here's what's new:

Faster logins. The new comments section lets you use your existing High Gear Media account or lets Facebook log you in.

No more Captcha. Our upgraded log-ins let you post comments with security, seamlessly.

Social media connections. If you're logged in, your comments can go directly to your Facebook or Twitter pages with a simple click of the mouse.

Threaded conversations. Comments are a conversation, so now you can respond in conversation form to fellow readers.

Voting buttons. Like or dislike a particular comment? Now you can register your take with a thumbs up or a thumbs down.

Custom views. You can sort the comments to fit your viewing needs: oldest, latest, or most popular.

We're developing even more features, like email notifications. And we've also incorporated Google's +1 function on the top left of the page, for the early adopters out there.

Give the new comments a test-drive--and send us feedback here on what you'd like to see added next.

    Bad stuff?

  2. Maybe post what Google +1 is all about -- for those of us who aren't quite up to speed on it (but consider ourselves early adopters, anyway)?
