Recall Alert: 2011 Chevrolet Express 1500

May 10, 2011
Chevrolet is recalling up to 7,593 2011 Express 1500s. This recall is slated to begin May 13, 2011. The recall is being issued due to faulty brake lines.

The recall documentation states that Chevrolet may have built some 2011 Express 1500s with a low clearance condition between the right rear brake hose and tire. This could cause the hose to rub on the tire and wear the hose to a point that it leaks.

If a leak should occur, the brakes may not function properly. This could lead to extended braking distance and a potential accident.

Dealerships will secure the right rear brake line in accordance to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 135. Chevrolet will cover all of the costs incurred in repairing this recall. For farther information, you can reach Chevrolet at 1-800-630-2438.
