Recall Alert: 2003 Audi RS6

May 10, 2011
Audi has issued a recall on its 450-horsepower, V-8 powered 2003 Audi RS6. The recall affects up to 5,992 vehicles. Audi issued the recall due to a faulty fuel tank.

The recall documentation states that the plastic material in the fuel tank rollover valve combined with the bending stress from the aluminum ventilation line may lead to the rollover valve nipple cracking. This cracking would eventually lead to a leak from the tank.

This leak – even if minor – could lead to a vehicle fire or explosion.

Audi dealers will reinforce the nipple to prevent cracking, or replace any already cracked nipples free of charge. The recall is expected to go into effect in June 2011. Customers can reach Audi at 1-800-822-2834.
