Blake Griffin Slam Dunk Over Kia Optima

Blake Griffin Slam Dunk Over Kia Optima

Remember the 2011 Kia Optima that NBA star Blake Griffin successfully completed a slam dunk over--well, the hood at least--back in February? If not, you can catch our previous post on it, including a video of the feat, by clicking here.

Well, the Los Angeles Clippers forward has now donated the fully autographed sedan used in his jaw-dropping dunk for a public auction to benefit the Stand Up To Cancer charity organization.

The donation was made in tribute to Griffin’s friend and former high school teammate Wilson Holloway who passed away on February 16 after a three-year battle with Hodgkin's Lymphoma.

The auction is now open and will run through until May 15. For full details, follow the jump below.

  1. It's great for the NBA, Blake Griffin, the charity who benefited, but looking at this from the Auto industry prospective. Kia was the true winner! People always overlooked Kia, but I believe they took value in allowing this exposure. I'm sure the increase in attention to the Kia brand and especially the Optima will help Kia's sales.
