Recall Watch: 2007 Honda Civic Hybrid

April 25, 2011
Honda has issued a recall for up to 36,656 2007 Honda Civic Hybrids due to failed electronics in the hybrid system.

The recall documentation states that the voltage converter that transfers power from the integrated motor assist – the electrical part of the hybrid system – to the vehicle’s electrical system has failed on some models.

This lack of power can cause the headlights to turn off and the engine to stall, leading to a dangerous situation.

Honda will inspect your Civic’s voltage converter free of charge and replace it for free should it show symptoms of failure. For further details, you can reach Honda at 1-800-999-1009.
