This week, the auto world's attention is focused on major motor shows in New York and Shanghai, but in-between the two, there's a special promotion that ought to interest college kids (or anyone else who'd like a new car). For the next several weeks, Honda is giving students in Arizona and California an up-close look at the 2012 Honda Civic Si Coupe, and one of them -- or you -- could walk away with it, scot-free.
The college tour is part of a promotion called the Civic Study Break, and it's designed to tout a sweepstakes giveaway of the new Si. The tour begins at the University of Arizona on April 28, then weaves its way through California, ending at UC Berkeley on May 12. During the promotion, students will get to see the sporty new Si (which debuts tomorrow at the 2011 New York Auto Show), and by texting in special codes found on the display model, they can win something that every student needs: a free lunch. Students can also enter to win a 2012 Civic Si of their own.
Don't live on the West Coast? Not a college student? No worries: as long as you're a licensed driver 18 or older, you can enter the sweepstakes, too. Just visit CivicStudyBreak.com before May 31 to sign up. And no stuffing the ballot box: one entry per person, dude.
