Sex sells--it's an advertising mantra we've all heard and seen in practice. Today's entrant puts a bit of a creative spin on the sale of previously-owned cars.

A used-car dealer in Strathroy, Ontario, Canada, is pitching its wares with a racy newspaper ad, pictured here, that compares used cars to a beautiful (implicitly libidinous) woman, with the tag line, "You know you're not the first. But do you really care?"

Well, do you? Or perhaps, better yet, should you? It never hurts to wrap it up with a warranty, even if they're offering 4.99 tequila shots...err, interest rates.

  1. There's a male version of this ad too, the guy they used looked like Tom Ford (the fashion designer)!

  3. With a car, it depends on how it was driven by the previous owner(s). With a woman, it depends on what kind of STD's she caught from previous "libidinous" encounters and will pass on to you if you're dumb enough to go there. You'd better care cause several can't be cured...AIDS....Herpes...etc, etc.
