2011 Volkswagen Jetta
Honk much? If you're driving one of the new
2011 Volkswagen Jettas already built and sold in America, you might be sounding the warning horn more than you'd like.
The German automaker's American sales arm says it's recalling some 71,043 2011 Jettas for a problem with the anti-theft system. The wiring issue could cause the vehicle's horn to cut off the power to the car in rare circumstances when the horn is sounded.
Affected vehicles include those built in the company's Puebla, Mexico factory from March 2010 to March of 2011. Owners will receive a notice in the mail to bring their sedan in for repairs, which will be performed for free by VW.
VW says no injuries and no accidents have been linked to the recall, but adds concerned drivers can get in touch directly with VW Customer Care at 800-822-8987.
