You'll soon be ableto get a HEMI in your Ram Truck for a lot less cash, thanks to a new model dubbed, for now, Code Name: Adventurer. The recipe? Plunk the 5.7-liter V-8 HEMI into a Ram 1500 with some "sport truck" gear, charge less than it would for a luxury truck. Simple.
Simple, but also attractive, if you're in the market for a quick, capable truck with a sportier look and more capability. The Adventurer is born from the idea behind the Tradesman, another Ram 1500 variant, which offers a standard HEMI V-8 in a V-6-priced truck--$23,830 to be exact.
“We know we have the formula right,” said Ram Truck President and CEO Fred Diaz. “Now we just need a great name that promotes pride of ownership. This new Ram model will be an attractive alternative for a younger or first-time buyer looking for performance at an affordable price. Case in point, it will have more horsepower and a lower base price than our competitors’ entry-level performance cars with the added benefit of versatility and capability
The launch of the new truck had been planned later this year, but was pulled up due to what Ram calls "overwhelming response" to the Tradesman.
Best of all, says Ram, the price of the Adventurer (or whatever it's eventually called) will be low enough to leave room in most budgets to add on Mopar accessories.
