As we have discussing all week, many automakers are using the Super Bowl as the linchpin to their social media campaigns. Chrysler will air at least one ad during the Super Bowl this weekend, but they also shoved bloggers into a 2011 200 and had them drive from Detroit to Dallas all on video tape, calling it the 'Game On' Blogger Road Trip.
Chrysler started the blogger road trip in Detroit, and it will end with the bloggers arriving this weekend at the Super Bowl. Each week over the past four weeks, a different group of four bloggers was chosen, for 16 total, representing eight blogs.
Chrysler has each 200 set up with multiple video cameras recording inside, along with chase vehicles also recording video.
Chrysler viewed this experiment as a way to get transparent blogger reviews. Of course the videos were posted to Chrysler's YouTube account and each of the bloggers embedded the videos on their respective blogs as well. Chrysler essentially just harvested content for its YouTube and Facebook pages.
