Ford Offers Free In-Flight Facebook Surfing Via Gogo During February

February 1, 2011

We have talked about how far we have come these days in social media. What with connected cars and in-flight WiFi, we now live in some wondrous times. Today Ford announced that it will provide free in-flight Internet access to Facebook during February.

Ford and Gogo have partnered for this promotion. Gogo says Facebook is the number one website viewed by travelers using its service.

Ford's connection with the promotion makes perfect sense, as its Facebook presence plays a large role in its social media marketing program. Ford's Digital Media Manager Alex Hultgren commented, "Our groundbreaking reveal of the 2011 Explorer in July has proven that social media is an ideal platform for conversation and the sharing of videos and photos about our reinvented SUV."

Getting your free Gogo access is simple. Once it is safe to use your computer open your browser, and you will see the Gogo home screen, where you can click the Ford/Facebook banner on the top to complete the free access login.

Seven major airlines are participating, including: AirTran Airways, Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, US Airways, and Virgin America.
