Kelley Blue Book’s Top Sedan Searches

January 26, 2011

One of the best websites to research pre-owned vehicle prices is Kelley Blue Book (www.kbb.com). Last month KBB recorded over 30 million pricing reports on both new and used cars, trucks, and SUVs. It seems Kelley Blue Book has become an industry standard for determining the value of pre-owned vehicles, as well as a major resource for new vehicles.

As an automotive writer, I’m always curious about which vehicles other car buyers are looking for. Overall vehicle searches provide an insight into models that are hot, and a window into buying trends affecting the automotive market.

KBB’s Top New Sedan Searches

Are rising gasoline prices affecting the vehicles that consumers are looking for? The Honda Accord topped the latest top ten sedan search list, followed by the Toyota Camry and Hyundai Sonata. All three are top-rated vehicles that provide tons of value for money spent, including in the area of fuel economy.

Here is the complete list of the 2011 models:

1.       Honda Accord

2.       Toyota Camry

3.       Hyundai Sonata

4.       Honda Civic

5.       Toyota Corolla

6.       Ford Fusion

7.       VW Jetta

8.       Nissan Altima

9.       Hyundai Elantra

10.   Chevy Cruze

Top Ten Pre-owned Sedan Searches

It’s obvious that used car buyers are looking for vehicles that not only hold their value, but will last over the long haul, and have reasonable maintenance costs. Kelly Blue Books top ten used car sedan searches include just three automakers: Honda, Toyota, and Nissan. Incredibly, the Honda Accord makes up over half of the top ten list:

1.       2007 Honda Accord

2.       2007 Toyota Camry

3.       2008 Honda Accord

4.       2008 Honda Civic

5.       2003 Honda Accord

6.       2005 Nissan Altima

7.       2004 Honda Accord

8.       2009 Toyota Camry

9.       2002 Honda Accord

10.   2005 Honda Accord

It’s no wonder that pre-owned Honda Accords continue to be in such demand around the country.
