Cruising down the highways and byways in a great-looking family sedan not only makes carting your brood around in a stylish statement a more enticing endeavor, it also allows for a certain amount of driver satisfaction as well. Who wants boxy and boring? Wrapping up our week-long series affectionately titled Poetry in Motion, here is a re-cap of the five family sedans that we at Family Car Guide feel offer, well, great style.
Yes, there are other contenders, and we’d need a lot more space to cover them all. Trust us, we will in the weeks to come. Peering into the vast – and widely diverse – inventory of family sedans in the marketplace provides much to ooh and aah over. The 2011 BMW M3 sedan just looks like it’s raring to go. That pretty much cinches its inclusion in any roundup of poetry in motion sedans. In reality, the M3 is the sum of all its parts. The overall impression is that of a dynamic performer that just happens to be a sedan. Or, as BMW’s marketers say, “For insurance purposes, we call it a sedan.”

Since awesome looks is what we’re after, it’s really a no-brainer to single out the 2011 Infiniti G sedan as a chief contender. All six versions of the 2011 Infiniti G sedan share the same exterior sheetmetal. And it’s definitely a head-turner. Some reviewers have described the exterior styling as “sensuous,” and “aggressive while falling just shy of boy-racer,” and so on.

Buyers of a luxury flagship sedan expect a certain level of coddling and refinement. That’s a given. Hyundai says Equus offers all that and more.
