Cheap Cars With Big Value: 2011 Chevrolet Cruze

Consumers looking for a replacement or additional car for the family want as much for the money as possible. Here at Family Car Guide, we completely understand that. So this week, along with other car news, we’re beginning a multi-part series on the cheap cars available right now offering big value. To qualify, the base starting manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) has to be under $20,000. In addition, the car has to offer more than expected, whether in standard safety or technology features, styling, high fuel economy, or other factors. First up is the all-new 2011 Chevrolet Cruze.

With a starting MSRP of $16,275, the all-new compact 2011 Chevrolet Cruze is a value-laden package that’s not too shabby in the styling department either. Chevy says Cruze offers consumers a lot of everything in one balanced package. What’s included? Let’s look at some of the highlights.

All-New Model – Cruze replaces the aging Cobalt sedan and is available in four trims for 2011: LS, LT, LTZ and Eco. Not only is Cruze completely new, it boasts more interior room than the sedan it replaces. Reviewers say that Cruze offers mid-size sedan room in a compact. That’s definitely a plus for families, since Cruze seats five and offers plenty of room in front and back seats. Materials used in the cabin are high-quality and well-built, and there’s 15.9 cubic feet of cargo capacity in the trunk.

  1. I looked at a more basic Cruze recently. It was priced just over $18K with auto, cruise (cruze?), a decent stereo, bluetooth and a few other niceties. Most sold will be equipped similarly. For the money, not a bad economy car.
